Announcement of results and invitation to the exhibition
3rd National Competition from the New Situations series!
The competition was addressed to students and graduates of universities and art fields up to 45 years of age.
The subject of the competition were works in the field of visual arts (painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, video, installation, object, mixed and own techniques, as well as intermedia and multimedia projects) related to the theme of this year’s edition of Capture.
Based on electronic submissions, the jury qualified forty-seven works by forty-two authors to the second stage of the competition and then selected the winners.
On October 27, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., during the opening vernissage of the exhibition, the competition results were announced and the following awards were presented:
Grand Prix – prize PLN 4,000
Aleksandra Mazurkiewicz “To capture masculinity”, object – diptych
– for capturing truth and detail in a classic formula
2nd Prize – prize PLN 2,000 ex aequo
Dominika Makowska “well-mannered/good girl”, oil on canvas, 100x70cm
– for creating artistic bridges
Mikołaj Thiel “Multisimilum indefinitum/Bebok”, object
-for the ambiguous metaphor and the childlike and multi-similar form
3rd Prize – prize PLN 1,500
Michał Myszkowski “Selfie under the waterfall in Krka”, installation
-for the picturesqueness in the Instagram-shrine version
ZAiKS Authors’ Association Award PLN 2,000
Klaudia Prabucka “Death and Herring”, video animation, 4’08”
Additional Prize of the Foundation iki – prize of PLN 1,200
Monika Popiel “Eden Open Source”, clothes-interactive installation – 6 pcs.
Honorary Distinction of the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
Vinicius Libardooni “Warszawa-Okęcie”, etching and aquatint, 100x70cm
All qualified works are currently presented at the post-competition exhibition at the Apteka Sztuki Gallery in Warsaw, Al. Wyzwolenia 3/5 from November 17, 2023.
