Announcement of results and invitation to the exhibition of the 1st National Competition in the New Situations series!

The competition was aimed at students and graduates of universities and art faculties up to 35 years of age.

The subject of the competition were works of visual arts (painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, video, installation, object, mixed and own techniques, as well as intermedia and multimedia projects) related to the theme of this year’s edition “Ożywienie”.

On the basis of electronic submissions, the jury qualified forty-seven works by forty-one authors for the second stage of the competition, and then selected 6 winners.

On October 22, 2021, at 6.30 p.m., during the opening of the exhibition, the results of the competition were announced and the following awards were presented:

Grand Prix – PLN 2,500 prize

Adrianna Gołębiewska, for three film etudes from the series Dance Macabre Łążek Garncarski (pomost, dom pana Zbyszka, stara garncarnia), site-specific, 2021

2nd Prize – PLN 1,500 prize

Keiji Matsumoto, for the work – Soul, ink, marker on paper, 100 × 150, 2021

3rd Prize – PLN 1,000 prize

Mateusz Janik, for intermedia work Punkty wrażliwe, 6 objects – threads, handkerchiefs, nitro transfer in frames and video projection, 5 ‘, 2021

Additional prizes:

Foundation Award – PLN 1,000 prize

Mariusz Stadnik, for the spatial work Lot Nielota, 2021, work awarded by the jury outside the competition

Kamila Jajkowska, for the spatial installation Okazy 1920, serigraphy, cardboard, foil, 2020

Dorota Kuźniarska, for the work House Genies, plaster casts and schagmetal, 2 pieces, 2019

Agata Stanula, for the spatial installation Laboratorium zapachu, a work consisting of 8 elements, mixed technique, 2020

All qualified works are currently presented at the post-competition exhibition at the Apteka Sztuki Gallery in Warsaw, Al. Wyzwolenia 3/5 from October 22 to November 21, 2021.
